Description

It contains a new generation, extremely stable form of vitamin C, which penetrates more easily and activates its action in the deep layers of the skin. Brightens and evens out the complexion, reduces the visibility of dark spots, tightens pores, smoothes and illuminates the skin, giving it an even and radiant complexion. Vitamin C stimulates the synthesis of collagen, and the combination with peptides fills fine lines and wrinkles and acts as an effective care for the first signs of aging. A lightweight formula that absorbs easily and leaves a soft velvety finish. Does not contain perfume.

Suitable for:

  • All skin types
  • First signs of aging
  • Uneven complexion
  • Hyperpigmentations
  • Devitalized skin with а greyish complexion
Active Ingredients
  • Vitamin C - This advanced and highly potent form of Vitamin C, known as 3-O-ethyl Ascorbic acid, offers exceptional stability in water-based products, ensuring a longer shelf life without oxidation. It is a powerful and stable ingredient that is significantly less irritating compared to other forms of Vitamin C. With its superior penetration into the skin, it effectively stimulates collagen production and lightens and brightens the skin, all while minimizing irritation. Vitamin C acts as a potent antioxidant that helps counteract the harmful impact of free radicals on collagen and elastin in the skin. It combats the signs of aging caused by various factors such as time, stress, lifestyle, and pollution. These benefits include visibly reducing loss of firmness, minimizing fine lines and wrinkles, and improving the appearance of dark spots and skin imperfections.
  • Oligopeptide 24 - This synthetic peptide, composed of 13 amino acids, stimulates the production of fibroblasts, thereby enhancing skin elasticity and density. With its proven anti-aging effects, it promotes smoother, more supple skin, effectively reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Niacinamide - Known for its anti-inflammatory, reparative, and potent antioxidant properties, Niacinamide offers numerous benefits for the skin. It smoothens fine lines and wrinkles by improving skin texture, brightens the complexion, and evens out overall skin tone.
How to use
  • Apply to thoroughly cleansed and dry face and neck skin in the morning and/or evening.
  • Avoid the eye area. After 15 minutes, apply a moisturizing product.

Frequently asked questions

Get answers to the most frequently asked questions from customers

Does Vitamin C make the skin photosensitive?

No, Vitamin C does not make the skin photosensitive. On the contrary, it provides proven additional protection against harmful UVA rays by enhancing the effect of sunscreen due to its antioxidant properties. However, it is important to note that Vitamin C itself does not provide sun protection, as it neither absorbs nor reflects UV rays. It must be combined with a sunscreen product.

Will using Vitamin C in the morning cause hyperpigmentation?

Absolutely not. In fact, Vitamin C is known for its brightening properties and helps reduce the appearance of dark spots by inhibiting melanin production. For best results and to protect your skin from future pigmentation, we always recommend pairing it with a high protection sunscreen.

Can Vitamin C be used on acne-prone skin?

Yes, Vitamin C can be used on acne-prone skin, but with caution. The pure form, L-ascorbic acid, can potentially irritate and redden the skin, however, the form used in Biotrade Glow Serum with Vitamin C (3-O-Ethyl-L-ascorbic acid) is gentle to every skin, while keeping its high effectiveness from the pure form of Vitamin C. We still recommend introducing it gradually, starting with every other day and switching to daily use if the skin tolerates it well.
Vitamin C helps reduce redness, dark spots, and acne scars and is also known for its anti-inflammatory action.

Is Vitamin C suitable for all skin types?

Yes, Vitamin C and its beneficial effects are suitable for all skin types, including dry and sensitive skin.

Which ingredients should not be combined with Vitamin C?

Vitamin C should not be used in the same routine as retinol or other vitamin A derivatives, AHA and BHA acids, other acids, abrasive products (like scrubs), or products with benzoyl peroxide. The combination of these ingredients is possible by alternating them every other evening or by using them in separate routines — for example, one in the morning and the other in the evening.

How should we incorporate vitamin C serum into our skincare routine?

Vitamin C serum should always be applied as the second step, after cleansing, on thoroughly cleaned and dried skin. After 15 minutes of applying it, follow with a moisturizer or apply sunscreen directly.

What is the difference between Ascorbic acid and 3-O-ethyl ascorbic acid?

Ascorbic acid is the most well-known and pure form of Vitamin C. One of its major drawbacks is that the formula of pure Vitamin C is highly unstable and easily oxidises, which reduces the effectiveness of the active ingredient and shortens its shelf life. To stabilize the formula, ascorbic acid needs to be in a solution with a low pH of 3.5, which can in turn cause skin irritation.

3-O-ethyl ascorbic acid is an advanced, ultra-potent, and stable form of Vitamin C that penetrates the skin more easily and has little to no irritating or sensitizing effect.

Is it necessary to moisturize my skin when using Vitamin C serum?

Yes, it is necessary to use hydration alongside Vitamin C serum, as it helps lock in moisture and allows the active ingredients to work more effectively. Hydration should be applied at the end of your routine.

How long should I wait after applying Vitamin C serum before the next product?

It is recommended to wait about 15 minutes to allow Vitamin C serum to fully absorb before applying the next product.

How much Vitamin C serum should I use?

The recommended amount of Biotrade Glow Serum with Vitamin C is one full pump to cover the entire face.

Why should I include Vitamin C serum in my routine?

Vitamin C is an active ingredient with many benefits for the skin. It is a powerful antioxidant, which has an anti-aging effect, brightens and evens the skin tone, stimulates collagen production, and has anti-inflammatory properties.

How often should I apply Vitamin C serum?

Vitamin C serum is best applied in the morning to enhance the effect of sunscreen protection product. It can also be used in the evening, as long as you’re not using retinoids or acids at the same time.

When will I see results from using Vitamin C serum?

The first visible results from using the Biotrade Glow Serum with Vitamin C can be seen after 14 days of regular use. Optimal results are achieved after at least 3 months.

How should I store Vitamin C serum?

Biotrade Glow Serum with Vitamin C contains a very stable form of Vitamin C and does not require special storage, other than the specific temperature storage requirements, you should keep it below 25°C (77°F).

Are there any side effects from Vitamin C?

Vitamin C is safe to use. To eliminate any concerns, you can do a patch test on a small area of your arm to check for any skin reaction.
In very rare cases, people with extremely sensitive skin may experience stinging, redness, or itching. However, the 3-O-ethyl ascorbic acid in Biotrade’s serum is very gentle and generally causes no irritation.
